## Description

A Hidden Architectural Sanctuary Above Petite Anse Above the preserved cove of Petite Anse, Domaine de Jangali offers a different expression of luxury in Saint-Barthélemy, one shaped by discretion, natural integration, and a deeply considered architectural vision. Where so many island villas seek visibility, Jangali pursues another path: a residence designed not to impose itself upon its setting, but to belong to it. Designed by the celebrated Brazilian architect Isay Weinfeld and realised in collaboration with Bruneau Ghezzi Architectes, the villa is conceived as a sequence of intentional gestures. Some seventy percent of its construction remains hidden from view, embedded within the natural slope rather than imposed upon it. Arrival is deliberately understated: a concealed entrance gives way to a mineral, cave-like passage, before opening onto expansive light and panoramic horizons. The experience unfolds slowly, compression, then release, an architectural choreography that has become Jangali's quiet signature. Materials echo the philosophy. Natural wood, mineral stone, and warm earth tones compose a palette that feels at once contemporary and ancestral, anchored in the very identity of the island. Light moves continually through the interiors, sculpting depth, shadow, and texture across the day. Furnished with pieces by the Brazilian designer Carlos Motta, the spaces speak with a refined, quietly luminous voice. The landscape is part of the architecture. Composed of endemic vegetation, dry-stone walls, and existing geological features, the gardens preserve the original character of the site, lending Jangali the rare sense of a residence that has always been here. Five bedrooms unfold within the villa, each protected, gardened, and gently sheltered from exposure, while the main living spaces open generously toward the ocean and the soft animation of the bay below. A vertical circulation links private suites and shared volumes, with the principal living area rising to the highest point of the property beneath a sweeping four-pitched roof, an open horizon, perfectly framed. Beyond the walls, leisure is gently choreographed. A heated pool, a fitness room, and discreet service spaces compose the everyday rhythm of the villa, while the experience may be enriched, on request, by a dedicated private chef, butler, and housekeeping team, the Hamaka touch, refined season after season, designed to reward time, familiarity, and quiet attention. The location adds a final, distinctive grace. Petite Anse beach unfolds within walking distance, a tranquil cove ideal for snorkeling and quiet swims, while the trailhead to Colombier begins just at the villa's edge. Flamands beach lies only minutes away, where the in-house butler may arrange chairs and umbrellas, an effortless extension of the day. A villa where architecture, landscape, and privacy are conceived as a single, seamless experience, Domaine de Jangali offers an entirely different way to inhabit Saint-Barthélemy : not seen, not announced, but revealed slowly, to those who know how to look.
